Supporting member system

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Machine Industry has a supporting member system in order to invite organizations and companies in the machine industry to provide support for the society's activities. Registered supporting members are given priority regarding the use of the societies' facilities and research results.

General members

General members are entitled to use the facilities of the Kikai Shinko Kaikan building (including its conference rooms, training rooms and large halls) at discount rates, and such members may be registered as Kikai Shinko Club members depending on their numbers of contributing units and as such will be allowed to use the club facilities.
The annual membership fees are as follows:

Economic Research Institute Membership

This system was established to prioritize members with regard to the use of the results of research carried out by the
Economic Research Institute. Membership privileges include receiving survey and research reports from the institute for free, Machine Economic Research and other commercially unavailable reports, the preferential right to participate in monthly STEP Workshops, lectures, meetings for reporting research findings and more, and borrowing library books from the BIC (this service is available exclusive to institute members). In this way, special members of the institute can make use of its rich collection of books and other information materials on the machine industry.
The membership fee is 100,000 yen per unit, and membership is at a company/organization level.

Technical Research Institute MembershipMembership

The purpose of this system is to allow the facilities and research findings of the Technical Research Institute to be put to good use. Special members are entitled to have tasks including commission processing, measurement, testing and research undertaken for them and to receive technical guidance at discount rates, to attend research finding presentations and lectures for free, to participate in training programs, research seminars and more at discount rates, receive publications and technical information for free or at a discount, make use of our facilities and machinery, send trainees to our institute, and so on.
The annual membership fee is 150,000 yen for the first year and 70,000 yen from the second year onwards, and membership is at a company/organization level.
